After World Vegan Day 2009, 409 attendees were surveyed about the event and their lifestyle choices. Highlights from this survey include:
- • 50% of event-goers were vegans, while nearly 20% ate meat or fish.
- • On average, those who were vegan had been so for around five years, while vegetarians had been so for around 12 years.
- • More than 80% described the following as important in their food choices: 'organic', 'fair trade', and 'locally produced'.
- • Nearly 40% rated raw food as important in their food choices, and nearly 70% wanted to see raw food at WVD.
