2005 Music

Due to overwhelming demand from punters at last years World Vegan Day for more music we think we have satisfied this requirement this time around. To open up the day and the musical acts we have the Australian School of Meditation just after 10am to softly start the day with their soothing tones. We welcome them back as this is their second year in a row playing for us and they are all vegetarian. Then after a couple of hours break while the yoga class, laughing club and kids sack race etc take place the afternoon will be filled with one musical act after another. This gives people the chance to get their lunch and spend the afternoon sitting on the lawn (if it's a good day) listening to the afternoons line up.

After the 1pm raffle draw we have Brett Weldon who is a vegan and has performed professionally with his band but will be playing for us solo on the day. He has a very impressive website which you can check out at www.brettweldon.com to get a preview of what's on offer.

Following Brett we have Glen Stewart who not only is lending us some of his equipment for the day and fine tuning the sound for the other acts but he has written a song especially for World Vegan Day, so make sure you catch his performance so that you can hear it live first. Glen has been vegetarian all his life (lucky boy!) and has played professionally in pubs as a duet but will also be performing solo for us.

After Glen we have Simon Oats, also vegetarian, who we discovered playing at a talk VNV gave at the Australian Catholic University earlier in the year and we were thrilled that he was interested to perform for us at World Vegan Day also.

Lastly, we thought we'd end the day's performances on a bouncy note and have vegan hip hop artist Solomon Theta see the day out. Solomon is well known in Australia's hip hop scene and has supported US acts on their Australian tours. We may be lucky if Solomon performs a vegan themed song.
